Safarnama-The Quest For Surreal…

We have to acknowledge sometimes that this moment is enough. This place is enough.I am enough.

“You need to explore, you need to connect ,you ought to touch everything; everything which is Away and far…”
                                  -Ifrah Bajwa

So as I neared lake the Sun was at its peak giving the lake its spectacular colours. The left half of the lake was emerald green and the right half had a tinge of blue like a gigantic mirror reflecting the world around it from its surface. The sky,the water, the clouds, the mountains, the flags, the hilltop and the calmness of the moment left me totally flabbergasted..
Background Music:Time by Ludovico Einaudi.

Chandratal or Chandra-Tal is situated at a height of 14,100 ft in Lahaul-Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh. The name,Chandratal,is derived from two hindi words Chandra meaning Moon and Tal meaning Lake. That is why this lake is known as Lake of the Moon form its half moon crescent shape surrounded by arid mountains Moulikla and Chandrabagha.
The lake can be accessed on wheels from Batal and on foots from both Batal and Kunzum Pass. The moon lake is 15 km from Batal and 7 km from Kunzum pass. Distance from Batal to Kunzum pass is 15 km and both Batal and Kunzum pass lies on Manali – Kaza road which only opens in Summer from mid june to mid October.
Chandra is gentle,just likeyou.
Chandra is beautiful!Just like you.

And I repeat,it all happened because of the #Loveforthemountains. I solemnly swear, just for the love of mountains!!

Safarnama-The Quest for Surreal…

  Safarnama-The quest for surreal

So the purpose was to explore something new and extreme this time; the part of world which I was oblivious about. The part of world which was lying amidst the bosom of mountains while holding myriad of serenity and tranquillity.

I didn’t have any itinerary back then, that on which mountain I will be landing first on. In which way, I will be rummaging through the paths; whether by spending nights listening to the stories of the locals in their mudhouses or by the side of heaven residing in the premises of one of the lakes of these valleys?

My only sole aim was to move…move from one place to other, to gather thoughts and beliefs of locals and to explore different culture and territories.
Somewhere close to #INDOTIBETAN border, lies these spectacular valleys about which many haven’t even heard of. The massively large and unquestionably remotest, hence striking district of HimanchalPradesh is known by the name of #Kinnaur, #Spiti and #Lahaul valleys.
Our decisions often make our luck. And yes, my luck was chasing me like a ghost in these adventurous decisions, undoubtedly.

My trip comprised up of a list of small and significant events that eventually added life to my every single move.

I trudged through World’s highest villages, post offices, oldest monasteries while witnessing the magic of #MilkyWay and shooting stars. From #Hitchhiking in pickup vans, cargo and Army trucks, I experienced different ways of exploration. Mountains made this year a bit more special as, I ventured into the most ecstatic Birthday celebration ever that occurred at #NAKO in the company of locals and fellow travellers.

From eating the most organic apples ever to applying Bear Grylls technique of lighting fire in the middle of nowhere to getting felicitated at #KALPA to experiencing the #worldsmosttreacherous road ( Karrcham to Tabo) in the local buses to experiencing most surreal #ChandraTal lake and the one of the best things that happened during this trip was; I befriended with 4 unknown crazy backchods travellers Pankaj Bhardwaj Anshul Jindal कंचन लाखलान and last but not the least the ultimate Banjara Nittin Khattar in a totally different part of the world. Nittin Khattar Bhaiya I truly feel honoured to call you as my buddy bro #RideforNation.

Stepping out of comfort zone is the only way to bring the beauty of unexpected in your life.

And to tell you the truth, it all happened because of the #Loveforthemountains. I solemnly swear, just for the love of mountains!!

Safarnama-A Journey…

One fine day,it will be your turn. You will leave homes, cities and countries to pursue grander ambitions. You will leave friends, lovers and possibilities for the chance to roam the world and make deeper connections. You will defy your fear of change, hold your head high and do what you once thought was unthinkable:walk away. And it will be scary at first but what I hope you’ll find in the end is that in leaving, you dont just find love, adventure or freedom.More than anything, you find You.
